2017 NYAH FELLOW MAJEL WILLIAMS NAMED TRAYVON MARTIN FOUNDATION SCHOLAR

Majel Williams, Miami Carol City Senior High, Class of 2017, received the prestigious Trayvon Martin Foundation scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence and strong community leadership track record.

Majel Williams will attend Florida A&M University in the fall. She has also received recognition for her organization Majel’s Bridge, which facilitates opportunities for youth of color to establish better relationships with law enforcement through public service.  Majel is a  recipient of the Ronald Reagan Student Leadership Award (2017), the Obama Service Award (2017) and is a member of the Peace Ambassadors Leadership Program.
