Recording technical directions
Please review the following easy instructions technical guidelines below to help ensure we capture the best quality recording :
Make sure your camera is at eye level. Regardless of whether you are using a laptop, webcam, or phone, it’s important that your camera be at eye level. You can do this by putting something under your laptop or find a way to set your phone or tablet so the camera is at the same height as your eyes.
Juice. Don't forget to keep your phone plugged in. Consider using a stand to prop up your phone
Look directly into the camera. It’s natural to want to look at the screen while you are talking but doing so makes it look like you’re not giving the audience your full attention. Maintain eye contact on the camera and do not look down.
Frame your face. Move your camera or your chair so that your face is in the center of the video screen. Do not let the video screen’s border obscure the top of your head or your chin.
If you are using a cell phone, orient the camera to be VERTICAL (portrait), NOT horizontal (landscape). A vertical video will look much better on split screen IG and will be usable for story clips in most other formats.
Create a quiet zone. Make sure you are in a room that is as free of noise and other distractions as possible. Be mindful of noises that can occur from a nearby room, as well, when choosing your location.
Please check the lighting. Usually a light in front of your face will help with lighting (i.e., behind your cell phone).
Slow Down. Please try to speak a little bit slower than normal so we can catch everything you say!
Dress appropriately. We know COVID-19 has inspired all sorts of casual wear, but please ensure you are dressed appropriately (top and bottom) for your IG Live session.
Make sure your environment is reflective of the Nyah Project. Be mindful of your surroundings!
Smile. We want to capture your natural energy. So be yourself.
