2: Wheels of Change

Team Members: Maya D., Isabella M., Damir W., Jimaya W.

Impact Partner: Michelle Mclean Children Trust (Namibia)

The Challenge: Wheels of Change aims to combat transportation and education accessibility issues in Namibia.

SDGs Addressed: (3) Good Health & Well-Being, (4) Quality Education

The Solution: The proposed solution to address the barrier that is preventing young students from receiving an education in Namibia is to purchase rough-terrain bicycles for these children. Rough terrain bicycles can be collected and distributed to these children by raising awareness through social media and partner with the World Bicycle Relief. Their goals and interest in providing accessible transportation in developing regions align with our goal to provide reliable transportation and relieve stress that the youth in Namibia experience.

The Reason: Two goals that Wheels of Change wishes to address are the improvement of the quality of the youth’s education and good health and well-being. All of our goals are focused on helping the young children in Africa to progress towards a better future. The two interests of this group relate to the two goals that must be dealt with immediately. As a team, we believe that this project will work. This barrier will be eliminated through the support of people that are willing to make a change and address the challenges that are preventing the youth from receiving an education. Not only is this essential to improve their lives, but it is in the common interest of everyone to see them succeed so that they can have access to a better future.
